Testimonials
As an Early Childhood STEM author, I constantly think of creative ways to help children construct knowledge through authentic, meaningful experiences. Discovering the Surprise Powerz dolls website was magical in a challenging, male-dominant world. I loved the way girls are celebrated through STEM dolls, unlike any other stereotypical āgirlā dolls. Each unique doll carries a message of empowerment, hope, and big dreams in the STEM field. Hats off to the founder, Kristel Bell, for her fantastic idea!!!
As a professor who focuses on early science, math and engineering in the early childhood classroom, I can state without hesitation, that the Surprise Powerz Stem Dolls are a wonderful addition to the STEM toys-for-kids market. The focus on empowering young girls to engage in science activities and careers is laudable.
Impressive! The question is not should I buy a Surprise Powerz doll, it is which one should I buy? STEM has never been so inviting, never looked so glam and girly but been so jam-packed with science, technology, engineering, and mathematicsāto help young girls realize their goals. The dolls are beautiful and soft to the touch. These dolls donāt just sit there and look prettyāthey talk the talk!
PROUD MOMMA MOMENT. With Surprise Powerz dolls, my daughter is aĀ part of a much-needed movement to give young girls more productive role models. These dolls areĀ designed to give girls the inspiration, foundation, and confidence they need to navigate life and learning.
Surprise Powerz dolls have a purpose that bounds far outreach smartness, diversity, beauty and fun. We as parents have to nurture the change we want to see in our daughters lives. We can't expect change to just happen. We must invest in change and watch it start as a seed and blossom into a beautiful tree. Surprise Powerz dolls are like investing in an account, expecting to see it grow.

Kristel Bell
Founder & CEO
Kristel Bell created Surprise Powerz because like most women of today, the āgirlā toys available to Kristel as a kid were for playing princess or mommy. As an adult, she was surprised to see that girlsā toys hadnāt changed much at all. Boysā toys, in contrast, were already teaching critical skills in serious subjects: science, technology, engineering and math. She knew she wasnāt the only one to see this imbalance, and this fueled her to create her own line of dolls to equip girls with critical skills that help them to break barriers, solve problems, and have fun doing it.Ā Ā Itās her hope these dolls make each girlās world bigger, and the understanding of her own potential grows. In addition to founding Surprise Powerz, she also founded a nonprofit in 2016 called Black Girls Movement, where she helps black girls gain equal access to STEM education and resources. Kristel holds about 10 years of global marketing experience from companies including United Airlines andĀ PeopleĀ magazine, and is a proud member of the NAEYC.
